B67-414 BRASSBACK SAW. Jackson. 12" blade with some light pitting, hanghole at end. The back is marked simply "Jackson"; possibly William Jackson of Sheffield. Rosewood handle has domed nuts, lamb's-tongue, and the decorative scalloped design offered by some sawmakers as an ornamental extra. See Simon Barley, British Saws and Sawmakers from 1660, page 93. The handle has a couple of small chips from the horns and some overall light wear. From the collection of David Jeffers. Good 100-200
