B68-537 CORE BOX PLANE. W.H. Groat. Certainly manufactured, and probably patented, but the patent is unknown. It falls into the same class of core box planes as the Bayley and Lewis patents, with locking fences and a cutter that rotates with each pass of the plane. This one is unmarked, but it's identical to the plane pictured in PTAMPIA I, Figure 275, which has "W.H. Groat" cast into the outer brass fence. Fruitwood tote. Very clean and works smoothly. For another example, see Lot 737. From the collection of Harold Unruh. Good+ 400-800
