B56-044. PATENTED GLUE POT. Howes Patent. It's hard to come up with a patentable improvement on something as simple as a glue pot, but Thomas Howes of Troy, NY, managed it in 1872. His innovations were a flange cast into the rim of the inner pot, and a lid that fit over it with a nifty loop to hold the glue brush. Marketed as the "Handy Family Glue Pot" and with a nearly complete paper label and decorative casting in the lid, it's a nice little cast iron pot, 3-1/2" tall and 2-3/4" in diameter. It even has some glue left in it. Fine 150 - 250 **ALL ABSENTEE BIDS MUST BE RECEIVED BY END OF DAY FRIDAY JUNE 26, 2020.
