TC25-227 BIT BRACE. Banner Patent. Patented in 1894 by John Banner of Banner's Elk, NC, uses a large wingnut to slide the jaws closed. Rated "never seen" in Pearson, and the only one we've ever seen. Unmarked but unmistakable. Wooden head and grip are worn but intact with a crack in the head, works smoothly. 12" sweep. From the collection of Jim and Christa Schoenky. Good 400-800
