B67-242 SPOKESHAVE. Conover "Champion." Invented by George Conover of Cleveland and manufactured by the Lockwood-Taylor Hardware Co. with a unique reversible cutter and adjustment mechanism. See Lamond, pp. 199-200. Lamond refers to this as the "nonpatented" type which differs from Conover's 1892 patent and is unmarked. Identical to the models pictured except that the locking nuts are wingnuts. 11" wide, traces of red japanning in throat, otherwise clean. A rare shave. From the collection of Harold Unruh. Good+ 100-200
